Alanya is organized around a fortified peninsula whose castle and Red Tower recall the Seljuk importance. The old port and the promontory districts contrast with the beach fronts of the current resort. The caves of Damlataş and Dim complete this landscape, but are located in two distinct areas, in the city and in the eastern heights.

General presentation
Alanya
Alanya is organized around a fortified peninsula whose castle and Red Tower recall the Seljuk importance. The old port and the promontory districts contrast with the beach fronts of the current resort. The caves of Damlataş and Dim complete this landscape, but are located in two distinct areas, in the city and in the eastern heights.
Castle d'Alanya, Red Tower — Kızıl Kule and Damlataş Cave give the most telling landmarks of Alanya. Together, they form a destination where urban life, the coastline, heritage and natural spaces meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than just one uniform decor.
See all
For a stay of 3 to 5 days, it is better to balance visits and travel times. Also to be anticipated: fortified promontory on slope; Dim cave outside the center, Damlataş at the foot of the peninsula. The trip can be organised without a car if the drop point and local connections are selected in advance. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be verified step by step.

Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

Heritage
Château d’Alanya
The medieval castle d'Alanya occupies the promontory that structures the city and its coastline. Its fortifications constitute a large complex, to be distinguished from the Red Tower located below, near the harbour.

Heritage
Tour Rouge — Kızıl Kule
The Red Tower is an iconic monument of Alanya, associated with the city's Seljuk heritage. Its position near the port completes the castle defenses installed above on the peninsula.

Nature
Grotte de Damlataş
Damlataş is located at the western foot of the promontory of Alanya, near the beach. Discovered during work in the mid-20th century, this cave features stalactites and stalagmites in a humid underground environment.

Nature
Grotte de Dim
The Dim Cave is located on the western slope of the Cebeli Reis, east of Alanya. It has a set of concretions and an inner lake; it must not be confused with Damlataş, in the city centre.
