General presentation
Alto Campoo et Reinosa
Inner cantabrian mountain, altitude station, Ebro springs, villages and great views of the northern reliefs.
Reinosa, Alto Campoo and Fontibre give the most telling landmarks of Alto Campoo and Reinosa. Together, they form a destination where mountain reliefs, natural spaces and the countryside meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than a single uniform decor.
See all
For a stay of 2 to 4 days, it is better to balance visits and travel times. Also to be anticipated: cold in winter and less suitable without mountain craving. A car is usually the easiest way to connect different sectors. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be checked step by step.

Places worth visiting

Mountain
Pico Tres Mares et Alto Campoo
The Pico Tres Mares dominates the high pastures of Alto Campoo in the meeting of the cantabrian, Atlantic and Mediterranean watersheds. From the altitude itineraries, the look passes from the ridges of the Cordillera to the valleys of Campoo and, in clear weather, to the Picos de Europa. The hike requires stable weather and suitable equipment, even when the climbs are close to the top.

Nature
Fontibre et la source de l'Èbre
At Fontibre, the Ebro appears in a resurgence surrounded by trees, at the foot of the reliefs of Campoo. A landscaped path follows the first waters of the river in a fresh and wooded atmosphere, very different from the neighbouring plateaus. This short stop is easy to associate with Reinosa or the castle of Argüeso.

Landscape and heritage
Réservoir de l'Èbre et Julióbriga
The vast Ebro reservoir opens up Campoo's landscape on a succession of meadows, shores and distant mountains. From Julióbriga, the remains of the Roman city and the surrounding heights offer a remarkable retreat on this stretch of water. The stage thus brings together panorama and history without requiring a long hike.
