General presentation
Berchtesgaden et Königssee
Spectacular Bavarian Alps, with lake, national park, peaks, salt mines and sensitive history.
Königssee, Berchtesgaden National Park and Watzmann give the most telling landmarks of Berchtesgaden and Königssee. Together, they form a destination where mountain reliefs, shores and lakes, natural spaces and heritage meet, with atmospheres that change over the course of the stages rather than just one uniform decor.
See all
For a stay of 3 to 6 days, it is better to balance visits and travel times. Also to be expected: very busy and mountain weather. The trip can be organised without a car if the drop point and local connections are selected in advance. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be checked step by step.

Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

Remarkable location
Bad Reichenhall
Bad Reichenhall is a Bavarian spa town linked to salt, curing gardens and elegant facades at the foot of the Alps. Between Salzburg and Berchtesgaden, it offers a less alpine stage than the Königssee but very pleasant for its salines, walks and views towards the Predigtstuhl.

Remarkable location
Ramsau bei Berchtesgaden
Ramsau bei Berchtesgaden offers one of the clearest images of the Bavarian Alps, with its church on the edge of the Ramsauer Ache and the mountains in the background. The village serves as a starting point to the Hintersee, gorges and trails of the national park, in a quieter atmosphere than Berchtesgaden.

Place
Königssee
The Königssee impresses with its dark and calm water, surrounded by high alpine walls. The boat crossing, punctuated by echo and views towards Saint-Barthélemy, gives an almost silent experience of the Berchtesgaden landscape.

Nature
Parc national de Berchtesgaden
The National Park of Berchtesgaden concentrates lakes, forests, alpine pastures and peaks in a very preserved alpine setting. It is intended for both walkers and contemplative travellers, provided you choose a suitable itinerary and keep a margin for the weather.
