General presentation
Berlin
German capital of memory, museums, creative districts, parks, nightlife and traces of the Wall.
Brandenburg Gate, Ile aux Muses and Reichstag give Berlin's most telling landmarks. Together, they form a destination where the big city, urban life, heritage and riverscapes meet, with atmospheres that change over the course of the stages rather than just one uniform decor.
See all
For a stay of 3 to 6 days, it is better to balance visits and travel times. Also to be anticipated: a very steep city and sometimes heavy history. The trip can be organised without a car if the drop point and local connections are selected in advance. The main sites are generally easy to access.

Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

Garden
Jardin zoologique de Berlin
In the heart of West Berlin, the Berlin Zoo is a mix of historic wildlife houses, large trees and crowded enclosures around the Zoo station. The visit is mainly for the density of the visible species and the nearby aquarium, with a very different urban atmosphere from the animal parks located on the outskirts.

Castle
Château de Charlottenbourg
Charlottenburg Castle keeps the most legible picture of the Prussian Berlin, between parlors, porcelains, gilding and gardens designed towards Spree. The wings of the palace tell of several tastes of court, from baroque to neoclassical, and the driveways of the park offer a clear breath after the loaded rooms.

Church
Église du Souvenir de Berlin
The Church of Remembrance juxtaposes the eccentric tower of the ancient sanctuary and modern volumes to blue stained glass windows that filter the light almost silently. On Breitscheidplatz, the place keeps visible the injury of the war while remaining an active religious space, to be visited with restraint.

Town or village
Porte de Brandebourg
The Brandenburg Gate is as much for its neoclassical silhouette as for the symbolic charge of its location. Between Unter den Linden, the Reichstag and the ancient route of the Wall, it immediately places the visitor in front of the break-ups and reunifications of Berlin.
