General presentation
Crater Lake
A deep blue lake in the caldeira of an ancient volcano.
To understand what Crater Lake is, you have to look at Rim Village, Wizard Island and Watchman Peak. These places give us a territory marked by shores and lakes, volcanic landscapes, mountain reliefs and natural spaces and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

For a stay of 2 to 4 days, it is better to balance visits and travel times. Also to be anticipated: conditions to be checked according to the season. A car is usually the easiest way to connect the different sectors. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be verified step by step.

Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

Place indismissible
Rim Village
Rim Village directly border the caldera of Crater Lake and concentrates the first views on the almost unreal blue water. Between the lodge, the stone walls and the edge path, the site gives an immediate introduction to the lake, especially when snow persists around the edges.

Nature and landscape
Wizard Island
Wizard Island is the volcanic cone that emerges in the western part of the Crater Lake, as a visible reminder of the explosive history of the place. From the viewpoints of the rim, its dark shape structure the landscape; in season, boat trips allow to approach it and sometimes to walk there.

Nature and panorama
Watchman Peak
Watchman Peak dominates the west bank of Crater Lake and offers one of the most clear views on Wizard Island, set in the middle of the deep blue of the lake. The trail climbs in an open volcanic setting up to an old watchtower, particularly photogenic at the end of the day when the shadows highlight the edge of the caldeira.

Nature and landscape
Cleetwood Cove
Cleetwood Cove is the only equipped access that descends to the water of Crater Lake. The path winds between pines and volcanic walls before arriving on a bank of dark lava, where one can touch this water of almost unreal blue and embark, depending on the season, to Wizard Island.
