Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

Remarkable location
Ben Nevis
Ben Nevis dominates Fort William with a silhouette often caught in the clouds, steep slopes and a weather that can rock very quickly. For many travellers, the interest lies as much in the views from Glen Nevis as in the ascent itself, long and exposed, where visibility, wind and equipment change completely the day.

Vallee
Glen Coe
Glen Coe lives in contrasts: dark slopes, gaps of light, torrents and roads running between the mountains. The valley changes quickly with clouds, rain or a low radius on the slopes; it is better to give it time to walk a little, stop without haste and see the landscape change.

Base of stay
Fort William et Loch Eil
Fort William forms a practical and living base at the edge of the lochs, with docks, departures from the road and this sense of end of line facing the reliefs. Towards Loch Eil, the atmosphere becomes more open and quieter: you are looking mainly for the lights on the water, the long views and a break between two wilder steps.

Railway heritage
Glenfinnan Viaduct
At the Glenfinnan Viaduct, the landscape and the rail respond: the arch of the viaduct crosses the hills and gives the train a real stage dimension. The visit may be brief, but it gains to be set on a beautiful light or on the passage of a convoy, when the valley suddenly moves.
