Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

Place indismissible
Citadelle d'Halifax
The Citadel of the Halifax occupies the hill that monitors the port, with star walls, ditches, barracks and wide views of the city centre. Military animations, restored rooms and the midday cannon give substance to this fort, whose position explains much of the maritime history of the city.

Museum
Atlantic Maritime Museum
On the Halifax waterfront, the Atlantic Maritime Museum gathers models, boats, shipwreck stories and objects related to the Titanic and Halifax explosion. The visit remains very concrete: instruments, hulls, testimonies and ships tell a city shaped by the port, war, fishing and crossings.

Place indismissible
Lieu historique national de la Tour-Prince-de-Galles
In Point Pleasant Park, the Prince of Wales Tower appears at the detour of the massive and circular trails surrounded by trees. This old defensive tower recalls the military role of the Halifax without leaving the park atmosphere, between shaded paths, remains of batteries and openings to the port.

Garden
Jardins publics d'Halifax
Public Gardens Halifax offer a very neat Victorian decor, with curved aisles, music kiosk, basins, greenhouses and ordered flats. In the center of the city, the place changes tone according to the season: tulips, dense foliage, dahlias or autumn colors transform the promenade.
