General presentation
Hangzhou
Lake, tea plantations and large temples form a cultural landscape where the metropolis is constantly close.
To understand what Hangzhou is, you must look to the west lake side, Lingyin Temple and Pagoda of the Six Harmonys. These places give us a view of a territory marked by the big city, urban life, shores and lakes and heritage and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

For a stay of 3 to 6 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: variable influx depending on the season. The trip can be organised without a car if the drop point and local connections are selected in advance. The main sites are generally easy to access.

Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

Lake
Lac de l'Ouest
The lake of the West is made up of dikes, islands, gardens and hills celebrated by centuries of painting and poetry. Walking through it on foot in several areas reveals more than just a boat ride.

Temple
Temple Lingyin
Lingyin is a large Buddhist monastery located in front of the rock sculptures of the Feilai peak. The whole is very frequented; a morning arrival allows to distinguish cult and tourist visit. Architectural details are better discovered without haste.

Place indismissible
Pagode des Six Harmonies
The pagoda dominates the Qiantang River from a hill south of the lake. The interior levels and park give different views of bridges and tides. Architectural details are better discovered without haste.

Place indismissible
Plantations de thé de Longjing
Longjing valleys produce one of the most famous green teas in China. A walk between villages and plantations is preferable to commercial tastings only. The beginning of the day usually offers more calm.
