General presentation
Île d'Arran
Compact island often described as a miniature Scotland, between summit, castle, beaches and villages.
To understand what Arran Island is, look at Brodick, Goat Fell and Brodick Castle. These places give us a view of a territory marked by island landscapes, the coastline, mountain reliefs and natural spaces and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.
See all
For a stay of 2 to 5 days, it is better to balance visits and travel times. Also to be anticipated: ferry to book and changing weather. A car is usually the easiest way to connect different sectors. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be checked step by step.

Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

Port and base
Brodick
Brodick concentrates the arrival on Arran: the port, the bay and the first views of the reliefs immediately set the tone of the island. It is a good anchoring point to radiate without cutting off from the coast, with a more pleasant atmosphere sooner or later in the day, when ferry movements become less pressing.

Summit
Goat Fell
Goat Fell is won by stony paths that gradually leave pastures for bareer slopes, with the sea appearing in strips between the reliefs of Arran. In clear weather, the summit opens a wide look at Brodick Bay, the Firth of Clyde and the nearby islands; the wind and clouds quickly change the atmosphere of the walk.

Castle and gardens
Brodick Castle
Facing the bay of Brodick, the castle mixes historical salons, family collections and views of the Arran mountains. Gardens and surrounding woods count as much as the interior rooms: you can easily spend a heritage visit in a freer walk, especially in clear weather.
