General presentation
Istrie
Adriatic peninsula combining Venetian cities, perched villages, vineyards, rocky coves and very photogenic ports.
To understand what Istria is, you have to look at Pula, Rovinj and Motovun. These places give us the opportunity to see a territory marked by the coastline, the heritage and the countryside and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.
See all
For a stay of 4 to 7 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: high demand coasts in summer and often rocky beaches. A car is usually the easiest way to connect different sectors. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be checked step by step.

Places worth visiting

World Heritage
Basilique euphrasienne de Poreč
The Euphrasian basilica of Poreč retains one of the great Byzantine ensembles of the Adriatic, with golden mosaics, atrium, Baptistery and luminous apse. The contrast between the Istrian lanes and the interior radiance of the decorations gives the visit a particular intensity, especially when the light hangs the tesseles.

Remarkable location
Krk
Krk is a large island in the north of the Adriatic, connected to the continent and marked by a wide variety of landscapes: fortified towns, pebbly beaches, rocky plateaus and vineyards of Vrbnik. It is suitable for travellers who want to alternate swimming, historic villages and panoramic roads without dependent solely on ferries.

Remarkable location
Cres
Cres offers a wilder Adriatic, with cliffs, clear coves, perched villages and Lake Vrana in the heart of the island. The winding roads impose a slow rhythm, but they open onto mineral landscapes, quiet harbours and sometimes the flight of wild vultures above the reliefs.

Ancient site
Arène de Pula
Pula's arena gives the Istrie a spectacular Roman landmark, placed almost on the edge of the present city. The visit is concise but very legible, with steps, galleries and views that recall the ancient importance of this Adriatic port.
