Heritage
Site archéologique d’Ani
Ani preserves the remains of a capital of the Armenian kingdom, established on the edge of a ravine now bordering Armenia. Churches, ramparts and urban traces make up a world heritage complex, of which the cathedral is only one of the monuments.

Heritage
Cathédrale d’Ani
Built at the turn of the 11th century under the direction of architect Trdat, the cathedral is one of the major monuments of Ani. Its volumes remain despite the disappearance of the dome and the damage of several earthquakes.

Heritage
Citadelle de Kars
The citadel occupies a height above old Kars. Several reconstructions, including medieval and Ottoman, have transformed its fortifications. Its location offers a key to understanding the development of the city around its defensive functions.

Heritage
Ancienne cathédrale des Apôtres de Kars
Built in the 10th century in the Armenian kingdom of the Bagratian, the Church of the Apostles has undergone several changes of use. Today it serves as a mosque under the name of Kümbet Camii, near the foot of the citadel.
