Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

Nature and panorama
Brooks Falls
Brooks Falls is one of Katmai's most striking places to watch the brown bears in full salmon fishing. From the platforms, the scene is played in a very tight space: fish that leap into the foam, bears positioned at the edge of the fall and constant tension around the best locations.

Nature and panorama
Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes
The Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes shows the most austere volcanic slope of Katmai, with its ash deposits from the Novarupta eruption. The fumoils that gave it its name have almost disappeared, but the landscape retains a rare mineral nudity, made of clear gullies, grey slopes and silence.

Nature and landscape
Naknek Lake
Naknek Lake serves as a large water gate at Katmai Park, between wild shores, changing winds and mountains in the background. Seaplanes, boats and fishing camps make up a very Alaskian atmosphere, where the lake is as much a landscape as a means of access to bears and salmon rivers.

Nature and panorama
Mount Katmai
The Mount Katmai This is a place that is especially important for travellers attracted to isolated geological landscapes, ancient ashes and the raw scale of the Alaska Peninsula. It is a place that is dominated by volcanicism, with a caldeira occupied by a lake and reliefs marked by the Novarupta eruption.
