General presentation
Kingston and the Thousand Islands
Stone town and archipelago of the St. Lawrence combine fortifications, navigation and island landscapes.
To understand what Kingston and Mille-Îles are, you must look at Fort Henry, Kingston City Hall and Mille-Îles National Park. These places give us a view of a territory marked by urban life, riverscapes, island landscapes and heritage and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.
See all
For a stay of 3 to 6 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: variable influx depending on the season. A car is usually the easiest way to connect the different sectors. The main sites are generally easy to access.

Culture and heritage
Fort Henry
Fort Henry It is strategically high between Lake Ontario, the Cataraqui River and the St. Lawrence River. The military casemates, ramparts and demonstrations revive the garrison, with a remarkable view of the Kingston and its waters.

Place indismissible
Hôtel de ville de Kingston
The dome of the town hall dominates the water front and the limestone facades of the centre of the Kingston. Marketplace and adjacent wharves make it an excellent starting point for capturing the elegance of the former Canadian capital.

Nature park
Thousand Islands National Park
Granite islets covered with pines emerge from the St. Lawrence in the Mille-Îles National Park. A boat or kayak tour allows you to slip between their shores and understand why the landscape is much better from the water.

Place indismissible
Gananoque
Gananoque is a small living port on the threshold of the Thousand Islands, with old houses and a walk along the river. We come there mainly to embark to the archipelago, but its docks invite to extend the stage before or after the cruise.
