General presentation
Marijampolė and Suvalkija
Urban parks, manor houses and border hills in the southwest agricultural region.
Poetry Park, Paežeriai Manor and Vištytis Regional Park give the most telling landmarks of Marijampolė and Suvalkija. Together, they form a destination where urban life, the countryside, the shores and lakes and heritage meet, with atmospheres that change over the course of the stages rather than just one uniform decor.
See all
For a stay of 3 to 6 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: conditions to be checked according to the season. A car is usually the easiest way to connect the different sectors. The main sites are generally easy to access.

Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

la Poésie Park
The Parc de la Poésie accompanies the Šešupė in the heart of Marijampolė, with walkways, sculptures and shade corners. It links the center nicely to river walks, while letting appear the taste of the city for public art and murals.
Place indismissible
Manoir de Paežeriai
The Paežeriai mansion combines neoclassical facade, outbuildings, park and lakeside in a very laid setting. The regional museum gives a depth to the place, while the alleys and reflections on the water extend the visit beyond the rooms.
Place indismissible
Vištytis Regional Park
The Vištytis Regional Park shows a hillier Suvalkija, with moraine hills, forests and large border lake. Roads and trails offer beautiful changes of relief, especially when the views open to the water and the soft lines of the countryside.
