For a stay of 7 to 14 days, you must plan a fairly long day. Also to be anticipated: chartered air access from Resolute Bay, without a highway network and self-sustaining expedition to be prepared with Parks Canada. The trip can be organised without a car if the drop point and local connections are selected in advance. However, some sites require more walking, elevation or preparation.

Nature park
Parc national Quttinirpaaq
Quttinirpaaq occupies the far north of Ellesmere Island, in a polar desert of glaciers, mountains and valleys almost without vegetation. Its discovery is a true aerial expedition, with a very extensive autonomy and preparation.

Lake
Lake Hazen
Lake Hazen is a huge arctic lake surrounded by mountain ranges and glaciers in Quttinirpaaq. In summer, its shores form a surprising polar oasis where tundra, birds and traces of ancient human presence appear.

Barbeau Peak
Barbeau Peak The island of Ellesmere is dominated by its glacial slopes and is the highest peak in Nunavut. Its ascent belongs to the field of expedition mountaineering; even from a distance, it gives its full dimension to the relief of Quttinirpaaq.
