General presentation
Saint-Martin, côté français
Clear bays, dry mornes and Franco-Caribbean villages occupy the northern half of an island shared with Dutch territory.
Marigot, Fort Louis and Pic Paradis give the most telling landmarks of Saint-Martin, on the French side. Together, they form a destination where island landscapes, coastline, natural spaces and urban life meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than just one uniform decor.
See all
For a stay of 2 to 6 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: conditions to be checked according to the season. A car is usually the easiest way to connect the different sectors. The main sites are generally easy to access.

Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

Place indismissible
Marigot
Marigot brings together market, marina and small shopping streets at the foot of Fort Louis, in the French part of Saint-Martin. The bay front gives a simple reading of the site: mooring boats, dry hills in the background, spice stalls and fabrics in the morning, and then terraces calmer when the heat rises.

Culture and heritage
Fort Louis
From the ruins of Fort Louis, Marigot appears below with its bay, marina and reliefs that close west of the island. The stones tell a simple coastal defense, oriented towards warehouses and ships; the short climb is mainly for the panorama and the late afternoon light.

Place indismissible
Pic Paradis
The Pic Paradis dominates Saint-Martin from greener heights than the coast, with views towards the bays, Anguilla and the Dutch part. The road or trails require good weather conditions: clouds can close the landscape quickly, but a thinning reveals the entire cut of the island.

Place indismissible
Grand-Case
Grand-Case keeps an atmosphere of coastal village, between narrow beach, low houses and restaurants open on the street. The former salt sector still touches the landscape of the north of the island; in the evening, the seafront becomes one of the most alive places to taste Creole and Caribbean cuisine.
