General presentation
Salt Lake City
Capital between temples, museums and Wasatch mountains.
Temple Square, Natural History Museum of Utah and Utah State Capitol give the most telling landmarks of Salt Lake City. Together, they form a destination where the big city, the heritage and the mountain reliefs meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than a single uniform decor.
See all
For a stay of 3 to 6 days, it is better to balance visits and travel times. Also to be anticipated: conditions to be checked according to the season. The trip can be organised without a car if the drop point and local connections are selected in advance. The main sites are generally easy to access.

Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

Remarkable location
Grand Lac Salé
The Grand Lac Salé offers a strange landscape of white shores, very salty water, distant mountains and immense skies west of Salt Lake City Depending on the water level, access to the banks changes a lot; Antelope Island often makes it possible to approach beaches, birds and buffalo silhouettes.

Temple
Temple Square
Temple Square concentrates in the centre of Salt Lake City the most symbolic buildings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Last Days Saints. Even when some spaces are under construction or limited access, the area allows to see the temple, Tabernacle, gardens and the very neat organization of this religious heart.

Culture and heritage
Natural History Museum of Utah
The Natural History Museum of Utah uses the landscapes of the Intermountain West to tell about dinosaurs, minerals, indigenous peoples, climate and natural environments. The building, which is located above Salt Lake City, adds a view of the valley; fossils and geology collections speak directly to travellers who then travel to Utah parks.

Culture and heritage
Utah State Capitol
I'm not sure what I'm doing.Utah State Capitol dominates Salt Lake City From a hill, with its clear dome, stairs and lawns open on the valley. Inside, marbles, frescoes and official rooms give an institutional overview of the state; outside, the view of the Wasatch mountains is almost as good as the building.
