Gulangyu
The pedestrian island preserves villas, churches and gardens linked to the old international port. Quotas and ferries require a reservation; one night helps to regain calm after the excursions. The beginning of the day usually offers more calm.
Temple
Temple Nanputuo
Nanputuo is a large monastery at the foot of rocky hills, near the University of Xiamen. Religious courses and panoramic path complement each other without confusing place of worship and attraction. Architectural details are better discovered without haste.

Université de Xiamen
The campus combines buildings with Fujian roofs, lakes and subtropical vegetation near the sea. Access conditions change and need to be checked before the visit is scheduled. The beginning of the day usually offers more calm.
Culture and heritage
Forteresse de Hulishan
Hulishan's coastal battery preserves cannons and defensive works from the end of the Qing. The site opens views of the strait and places the beaches in a military history.
