Hanok village of Jeonju, Gyeonggijeon Shrine and Jeondong Cathedral give the most telling landmarks of Jeonju. Together, they form a destination where urban life, heritage and the countryside meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than a single uniform decor.

Jeondong Cathedral
The Jeondong Cathedral stands its red brick at the entrance to the Hanok village, on a site associated with the first Korean Catholic martyrs. Its Romanesque and Byzantine architecture creates a clear contrast with the nearby roofs and recalls the religious diversity of the city.
