Landmannalaugar, Laugahraun and Brennisteinsalda give the most telling landmarks of Landmannalaugar and Hautes Terres. Together, they form a destination where mountain reliefs, volcanic landscapes and natural spaces meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than just one uniform decor.

Laugahraun is a rough lava flow that borders the camp of Landmannalaugar. Crossing it allows to pass abruptly from mineral black to coloured slopes, in a short but already very expressive loop.

Brennisteinsalda
Brennisteinsalda is a mountain of rhyolite striated with sulfur, steam and warm colors. Its ascent offers one of the best views on Landmannalaugar, with more demanding terrain than it seems.
