For a stay of 2 to 4 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: less monumental than imperial capitals and heat possible in summer. The trip can be organised without a car if the drop point and local connections are selected in advance. The main sites are generally easy to access.

The Dolac Market brings a lively daily scene just above the center, with stalls, red umbrellas, local products and nearby gourmet streets. The visit is short but precious to capture Zagreb by its uses rather than by its monuments.
