Culture and heritage
University of Michigan Museum of Art
L的UMMA presents a university collection history that has become a major public museum, with rooms and architecture that link local memory and international art. The presence of the monument to the dead at the entrance also reminds the civic rooting of the place. It is a serious cultural visit, anchored in the campus scale.
Nature and landscape
Nichols Arboretum
Nichols Arboretum descends to the Huron River through meadows, woods and hilly trails that keep Ann Arbor at a distance. The peonies in spring, autumn foliage and quiet banks give each season a different pattern. It is a simple place to love to walk, read outside or escape between two urban visits.
Place indismissible
Michigan Theater
The Michigan Theater preserves the decor of a 1928 cinematic palace, with monumental staircase and historic organ. Attending a projection transforms the building into a living object rather than an object of conservation. The room keeps an acoustic and an atmosphere difficult to fold elsewhere.
