Haystack Rock It stands directly on the beach of Cannon Beach, a massive silhouette beaten by waves and low clouds. At low tide, the basins around the rock reveal anemones, starfish and small crabs, while the seabirds occupy the cornices in spring and summer.

The Astoria Column Coronation Coxcomb Hill and spirally tells scenes of regional history, visible on its painted barrel. After the interior staircase, the platform opens onto the mouth of the Columbia, bridges, hills of the Columbia Astoria and the waters where the river meets the Pacific.

Ecola State Park The trails pass under the spruces of Sitka before reaching the viewpoints where the ocean, the isolated rocks and the marine mist make up a very changing landscape.

Fort Clatsop The winter camp of the Lewis and Clark Expedition near the mouth of Columbia is rebuilt. The log buildings, demonstrations and wet trails around the site give a concrete idea of the months spent there, between rain, exchanges with local people and preparation for the return to the east.
