Chartreuse

Pre-Alpine Massif, monastery, forests, cliffs, villages and hikes.

To understand what Chartreuse is, you have to look at Cirque de Saint-Même, Grande Chartreuse and Trekking. These places give you a view of a territory marked by mountain reliefs, forests, natural spaces and heritage and allow you to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

For a stay of 2 to 5 days, it is better to balance visits and travel times. To anticipate also: mountain weather. A car is usually the easiest way to connect different sectors. However, some sites require more walking, elevation or preparation.

圏谷

Cirque de Saint-Même

4.5 / 5· Hidengo1 to 2 hrs on site · estimate

The Cirque de Saint-Même is illuminated by its walls and its perspective games. The site invites a careful progression, with useful breaks on the edge of the views to understand the depth of the reliefs. Volumes and light build a true narrative along the slope.

僧院

Monastère de la Grande Chartreuse

4.4 / 5· Hidengo1 to 2 hrs on site · estimate

The monastery of the Grande Chartreuse remains closed to the visit, which reinforces the distance with this place of silence installed in a wooded valley. It is approached mainly by the roads and paths surrounding it, while the nearby museum gives access to the history of the Chartreux without disturbing monastic life.

村

Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse

4.3 / 5· Hidengo1 to 2 hrs on site · estimate

Saint-Pierre-de-Chartrouse offers a direct entrance into the identity of the valley, between alleys, high points and more distant views towards the mountains. The best is by changing rhythm: a short passage to be located, a detour to compare the shade and the full sun. The place speaks through its sequences.

山

Charmant Som

4.3 / 5· Hidengo1 to 2 hrs on site · estimate

At Charming Som, the mountain becomes legible as effort is made, with points of view that cut between rolling and open skys. The paths offer an alternation of very concrete visual effects: wide panorama, then details of rock and vegetation. A real walk of contrast and scale.
