Dumfries and Galloway
Forest, coast, gardens, castles and night sky in a quieter Scottish region.
The discovery of Dumfries and Galloway revolves around Galloway Forest Park, Culzean Castle and Logan Botanic Garden. The stay thus alternates between forests, the coastline, the countryside and natural areas, which gives a concrete picture of the destination beyond its only best known site.

For a stay of 3 to 6 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: limited transport and rural distances. A car is usually the easiest way to connect different sectors. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be checked step by step.

Foret
Galloway Forest Park
Galloway Forest Park gives a rare impression of space in southern Scotland, between lochs, wooded hills and quiet roads that sink into the plantations. You can choose a short walk, a lookout or a longer exit; in the evening, the distance from urban lights adds a particular dimension to the place.
Cotier castle
Culzean Castle
Situated above the sea, Culzean Castle is worth as much for its dramatic architecture as for its gardens, woods and coastal paths. The interiors evoke an aristocratic home that is very staged, while the park offers freer breaks, with views that change quickly according to the wind and the light.
Garden
Logan Botanic Garden
Logan Botanic Garden surprises by its almost exotic atmosphere, favored by the softness of the Gulf Stream on the Rhine Peninsula. Palm trees, arborescent ferns and massive ferns from distant climates create an unexpected parenthesis in Scotland, particularly pleasant for a slow visit, sheltered from the tumult of coastal roads.
