Kielder, the Cheviots and Northumberland National Park
Isolated reservoir, forest, night sky, observatory, border hills and one of the least urbanized areas of England.
Kielder Water, Kielder Observatory and The Cheviot provide the most telling landmarks in Kielder, Cheviots and Northumberland National Park. Together, they make up a destination where the shores and lakes, forests, natural spaces and mountain reliefs meet, with atmospheres that change over the course of the stages rather than a single uniform decor.

For a stay of 2 to 5 days, it is better to balance visits and travel times. Also to be anticipated: spaced services and harsh weather on the heights. A car is usually the easiest way to connect different sectors. However, some sites require more walking, elevation or preparation.

Tank
Kielder Water
Kielder Water structures the territory by its water mass and open banks, where traffic, roads and viewpoints naturally line up. It is used to understand the scale of the reservoir and how the water re-designs the markers.
Observatory
Kielder Observatory
The Kielder Observatory is designed for observation: high point of view, clear corridors and very clear night experience. The place makes sense if the visit includes a part of waiting time to capture the sky.
Summit
The Cheviot
The Cheviot offers an ascent of ridges and plateaus, with landscape cuts that reveal the expanse of the Cheviots. The place speaks mainly by its clear lines and the quality of the visual markers between slope and horizon.
National Park
Northumberland National Park
Northumberland National Park can be read along the trails, where relief controls perspectives and breathing. The open areas and wooded corridors build a retreat experience, ideal for understanding the identity of the large space.
