For a stay of 2 to 4 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: Sherwood requires a transfer and urban relief in places. The trip can be organised without a car if the drop point and local connections are selected in advance. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be checked step by step.

Castle and museum
Nottingham Castle
Nottingham Castle occupies a dominant position above the city and today mixes historical site, museum and views of surrounding neighborhoods. The visit does not resemble the visit of an intact medieval castle; it is especially true to place Nottingham between local power, popular narratives and urban collections.
Urban caves
City of Caves
City of Caves reveals an underground Nottingham, dug in sandstone under modern streets. The route gives access to spaces used to work, store, shelter or otherwise live the city, which creates a very strong contrast with commercial animation just above.
Forest
Sherwood Forest
Sherwood Forest is worth as much for its ancient forest as for Robin Hood's imagination that accompanies each clearing. The easy trails allow you to pass from large oaks to more open areas, with a particularly pleasant atmosphere when the use drops and light filters between branches.
Historical tree
Major Oak
Major Oak is a tree more than a monument, but its sustained silhouette and its connection to Sherwood's stories give it a special presence. The stop is brief, easy and often frequented; it takes more meaning when it is inscribed in a wider walk through the forest.
