Pictured Rocks
Colourful falsies, arches and wild beaches on the shore of Lake Superior.
Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Miners Castle and Chapel Rock give the most telling landmarks of Pictured Rocks. Together, they form a destination where the shores and lakes, the coastline, the forests and the natural spaces meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than just one uniform decor.

Nature and landscape
Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore
This spectacular portion of Lake Superior's shores is a setting where colourful cliffs, beaches and trails open up to changing perspectives. The contrast between turquoise water, striated walls and wooded areas gives a real matter of walk, which is approached both by hiking and by boat.

Miners Castle
The Miners Castle is an iconic rocky hill on the coast of Pictured Rocks, raised above the valleys of the lake. It attracts for descent towards its viewpoints, where geology mixes with the feeling of elevation above the mist that rises water.
Place indismissible
Chapel Rock
Chapel Rock appears as an isolated sandstone pillar, dominated by an old pine tree whose roots still seem to cling to the cliff. The most beautiful readings go through the walk to the waterfront or through the forest path, with a real contrast between mineral verticality and lake reflections.
