Plymouth and Cape Cod Bay
Massachusetts destination centered on New England's heritage, culture and landscapes, useful for covering historical state reading.
To understand what Plymouth and Cape Cod Bay are, you need to look at Plimoth Patuxet, Plymouth Rock and Myles Standish State Forest. These places give us a view of a territory marked by urban life, the coastline and the heritage and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

For a stay of 1 to 4 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: seasonality to check and sometimes important distances. The trip can be organised without a car if the drop point and local connections are selected in advance. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be verified step by step.

Place indismissible
Plimoth Patuxet
Plimoth Patuxet combines 17th-century English village and living wampanoag village, without opposing these worlds. The interpreters embody domestic gestures, works, exchanges, and let see the concrete construction of a confrontational encounter. The site avoids the flat version of the historical narrative.
Place indismissible
Plymouth Rock
Plymouth Rock remains above all a resort seafront: symbolic fortress laid on places even more alive around the port, the market and museums. The visit takes its full meaning by surveying the shore and the surrounding docks, where the context of the place is read.
Nature and landscape
Myles Standish State Forest
Myles Standish is an interior of pines and glacial ponds where the road gives way to the sandy trails. The forest quickly absorbs the noise of the coast and nearby coastal villages. Swimming, cycling or camping give another texture to the approach to Cape Cod Bay.
