Roanoke and the Virginia Blue Ridge
Virginia destination centered on historic cities, Blue Ridge, rivers and coastline, useful to cover inland Virginia and maritime.
Mill Mountain Star, Blue Ridge Parkway and McAfee Knob are the most telling landmarks of Roanoke and Blue Ridge of Virginia. Together, they form a destination where urban life, mountain reliefs, forests and natural spaces meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than just one uniform decor.

For a stay of 3 to 6 days, it is better to balance visits and travel times. Also to be anticipated: seasonality to check and sometimes important distances. The trip can be organised without a car if the drop point and local connections are selected in advance. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be verified step by step.

Nature and landscape
Mill Mountain Star
The Mill Mountain Star dominates Roanoke from a viewpoint that opens a clear view of the city and its surrounding reliefs. The observation point shows the relationship between urban sky and blue mountains. It is a simple, strong and lasting image.
Nature and landscape
Blue Ridge Parkway
The Blue Ridge Parkway unfolds panoramic roads, views in corridors and structured breaks along the ridges. Roanoke, a few kilometers is enough to feel the passage of the city to the open horizons. Tunnels and viewpoints give a cinematic tempo without leaving the natural.
Nature and landscape
McAfee Knob
McAfee Knob remains a suspended slab that remains engraved from the finish, in the heart of the Appalachian Trail. The climb is sustained, but the balcony panorama gives a total reward. It is a top to prepare for the effort, not for the simple postcard.
