Neizvestnaya Valley
In the Neizvestnaya Valley, river channels cross open tundra beneath largely treeless hills. Authorised reserve circuits explore different sections of this inland valley.
Natural landscape
Cape Ptichy Bazar
Ptichiy Bazar Cape forms a line of cliffs beside the Arctic sea. The reserve identifies it as a seabird-colony observation site on authorised circuits; sightings depend on season.
Natural landscape
Cape Waring
At Wrangel’s eastern end, Waring Point’s cliffs reveal the rocks and coastline. Reserve programmes also describe this sector’s seabirds. The rock-arch photograph dates from July 2013.
Natural landscape
Zvyozdny (Somnitelnaya)
The former buildings of Zvyozdny, also called Somnitelnaya, record human settlement on Wrangel’s coast. This sector lies near the departure base for reserve programmes. The suggested visit concerns the outdoor landscape.
