To understand what Sandomierz is, you have to look at Rynek, Cathedral of Sandomierz and Ravin of Queen Jadwiga. These places give us a view of a territory marked by urban life, riverscapes and heritage and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

Région minière préhistorique de silex rayé de Krzemionki
Krzemionki maintains a network of prehistoric mines where striped flint was extracted to make axes and tools. Wells, galleries, size workshops and traces of work show a surprisingly elaborate technical organization, in a basement where the stone still carries the gestures of Neolithic miners.

The Rynek of the Sandomierz occupies the top of the city, with sloping city hall, old houses and streets that descend towards the Vistula. The square keeps a small historical town ladder, ideal to start before the undergrounds, the cathedral or the loess ravines.

The cathedral of Sandomierz mixes Gothic architecture, baroque decorations and murals in a site linked to the old royal chapter. Its position near the castle and terraces on the Vistula gives a compact visit, between religious art and river panorama.

Queen Jadwiga's ravine plunges under trees into loess walls dug by water and roots. A few steps from the old town, it offers a short but very different walk, almost cashed, where the golden floor replaces the cobblestones.
