Nature and landscape
Fall Creek Falls
Fall Creek falls into a deep basin surrounded by the park gorge, after a brief climb from the parking lot. The contrast between plateau and depth creates an immediate visual surprise, reinforced by continuous water noise and wet vegetation.
Nature and landscape
Cummins Falls State Park
Cummins Falls State Park is organized around a shoal cascade that falls into a rocky basin, at the bottom of a wooded gorge. Access requires walking on an irregular terrain, sometimes in the water, which gives swimming a real taste of effort. Hot days attract many people; off-peak, the noise of the fall resumes the whole place.
Nature and landscape
Burgess Falls State Park
Around the Gorge of Falling Water, Burgess Falls chained rocky steps, steep views and continuous river noise downhill. The relief requires a gradual approach, and the main fall marks the end of the course with a very strong visual intensity.
