Ulaangom and Uvs Lake
Provincial capital and huge salt lake open onto landscapes of dunes, marshes and border mountains.
The discovery of Ulaangom and Lake Uvs is centred around Lake Uvs, Ulaangom and Mount Turgen. The stay thus alternates between urban life, shores and lakes, wetlands and desert areas, giving a concrete picture of the destination beyond its only best known site.

World Heritage
Bassin d’Ubs Nuur
The basin of Ubs Nuur combines salty lake, steppe, dunes, mountains and wetlands in a very changing Central Asian landscape. Migratory birds frequent the shallow shores, while dry immensities give a rare sense of distance; movements require a real margin in the face of distances and weather.
湖
Lake Uvs
The large salt lake occupies the bottom of a closed basin shared with Russia. Its remote shores welcome birds and wetlands, accessible only by selected tracks. Light, wind and season strongly transform the landscape.
Place indismissible
Ulaangom
Ulaangom is the administrative and commercial basis of the Great Lakes Depression. The museum and the market allow you to understand the diversity of the province. A slow visit allows you to go beyond the only points of view that are best known.
Place indismissible
Mount Turgen
The Turgen Mountains carry snow, pastures and glacial valleys west of the lake. The routes are isolated and subject to the constraints of the border area. The weather, altitude and condition of the tracks must be checked before departure.
