Grand Tibetan monastery, pilgrimages and meadows make Xiahe a major cultural centre in Amdo.
Labrang Monastery, Sangke Prairie and Chorten Gongtang give the most telling landmarks of Xiahe and Labrang. Together, they form a destination where heritage, mountain reliefs and the countryside meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than a single uniform decor.

Prairie de Sangke
The pastures extend south of Xiahe between the rivers and hills of Amdo. Distances, weather and access conditions must be checked before departure; water, warm clothing and time range remain useful, even in summer.
