Fortified passes, temples and agricultural plateau connect Taiyuan to the historical borders of the north.
To understand what Xinzhou and Yanmen are, you must look at the side of Yanmen Pass, Xinzhou Temple and Western Wutai Mount. These places give us a view of a territory marked by urban life, heritage and mountain reliefs and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

The Great Wall controlled one of the main passages to the steppe here. An early visit allows you to better observe local usages and the details of the place, while avoiding some of the groups and traffic.
