Apresentação geral
Ynys Môn / Anglesey
Large Welsh island with beaches, lighthouses, castles, historic bridges, villages and very varied coasts.
Beaumaris Castle, South Stack and Llanddwyn Island give Ynys Môn / Anglesey the most telling landmarks. Together, they form a destination where island landscapes, coastline, heritage and natural spaces meet, with atmospheres that change over the course of the stages rather than a single uniform decor.
Ver tudo
For a stay of 3 to 6 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: coastal sites exposed to the wind. A car is usually the easiest way to connect different sectors. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be checked step by step.

World Heritage
Châteaux forts et enceintes du roi Édouard Ier dans l'ancienne principauté de Gwynedd
Beaumaris, Harlech, Caernarfon and Conwy illustrate the military power built by Edward I in northern Wales. Walls, towers, fortified gates and coastal positions give these castles a very legible presence, with often spectacular views of the sea, estuaries or mountains.

Castle
Beaumaris Castle
At Beaumaris Castle, geometric volumes and stone matter tell an architecture designed to last. The logic of a site located on the edge of an exposed shoreline can be seen by going through the courtyard, courtesies and piercings outwards. A quiet stop, with little precipitation, allows to see how the fortification organizes the space, from the passage from entrance to the views towards the sea.

Phare
South Stack
South Stack immediately gives a sensation of opening: clear horizon, rocky blocks, regular wind. It is gained mainly by advancing along the shore to let the rhythm come from the tides, and then often raising the head towards the large coastal line. A time a little long, with no route imposed, reveals the variations of colors of water and light on the walls.

Presqu'île
Llanddwyn Island
Llanddwyn Island appreciates itself as an almost autonomous space: sand, wind and marine perspectives build an active break atmosphere. Short trails alternate silent walking and observation of changes in visibility around the island. When the light descends, the cliffs and horizon change texture, and the place becomes more legible in a few slow steps.
