Castle of Berat, Mangalem and Gorica give the most telling landmarks of Berat and canyon of the Osum. Together, they form a destination where urban life, heritage, riverscapes and natural spaces meet, with atmospheres that change over the course of the stages rather than just one uniform decor.

The castle of Berat is a still inhabited citadel, where stone alleys, Byzantine churches, white houses and viewpoints blend into the daily lives of the residents. From the ramparts, the districts of Mangalem and Gorica appear in steps, tight around the Osum.

Mangalem climb under the castle of Berat With its white facades pierced with rows of windows, the city's most famous image. The cobblestone streets climb hard, cross Ottoman houses and give in places tight views of Gorica, the Osum and the citadel.

Gorica facing Mangalem on the other side of the Osum, quieter and less frequented, with stone houses, inclined alleys and small churches. The old bridge connects the two neighborhoods, and the view from Gorica reveals the almost vertical superimposition of the windows of Berat.
