Apresentação geral
Himeji
Exceptional wooden castle, gardens and mountain temple form a major heritage stage west of Kansai.
Himeji Castle, Kōko-en Garden and Engyō-ji Temple give Himeji's most telling landmarks. Together, they form a destination where urban life, heritage, mountain reliefs and forests meet, with atmospheres that change over the course of the stages rather than just one uniform decor.
Ver tudo
For a stay of 2 to 4 days, it is better to balance visits and travel times. Also to be anticipated: conditions to be checked according to the season. A car is usually the easiest way to connect the different sectors. The main sites are generally easy to access.

Uma seleção para começar a sonhar e organizar a estadia — não uma lista exaustiva de tudo o que há para ver.
Castelo
Himeji Castle
The castle of Himeji retains a vast system of walls, doors and passages leading to a historic dungeon of wood. Its white silhouette is famous, but the interior reveals above all a complex defensive organization and rough volumes accessible by steep stairs.
Jardim
Garden Kōko-en
Kōko-en gathers nine enclosed gardens on the former Samurai residences district, right next to the castle. Ponds, tea pavilions and plant compositions offer distinct ambiances, with particularly neat framings on the neighbouring ramparts.
Templo
Engyō-ji Temple
Engyō-ji occupies the wooded slopes of Mount Shosha above Himeji A cable car and then paths connect large wooden buildings, terraces and undergrowths, in a monastic atmosphere that contrasts strongly with the urban castle.
