Washington Slagbaai covers the north of Bonaire with dry hills, cactus, saline, coves and old traces of plantations. The slopes reveal a rough island, far from the seafront of Kralendijk; heat, distances and road conditions require a well-prepared visit, especially to reach the isolated beaches.

Klein Bonaire
Klein Bonaire faces Kralendijk as a low island, uninhabited, surrounded by reefs and laying beaches. It is only by boat, often to swim from the sand to the nearby corals; the absence of shade and the fragility of turtles impose a light and attentive presence.

Lake Bay brings together mangroves, grasses and shallow waters on the eastern coast of Bonaire, with areas appreciated by the veliplanchists.
