ภาพรวมทั่วไป

Disko Island

Volcanic falsities, springs, glaciers and ice-filled bays around the village of Qeqertarsuaq.

Qeqertarsuaq, Disko Island and Kuannit give the most telling landmarks of Disko Island. Together, they form a destination where island landscapes, coastline, mountain reliefs and natural spaces meet, with atmospheres that change over the course of the stages rather than just one uniform decor.

For a stay of 4 to 8 days, it is better to balance visits and travel times. Also to be anticipated: conditions to be checked according to the season. A car is usually the easiest way to connect the different sectors. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be verified step by step.

Disko Island is distinguished from Greenland's granite base by its volcanic plateaus and cliffs. It is crossed from Qeqertarsuaq and reveals a rare alternation of flowered tundra, dark valleys, glaciers and iceberg-facing coasts.

Kuannit

4.5 / 5· Hidengo1–2 ชม.

Kuannit combines basalt columns, surprisingly abundant vegetation and waterfalls on the Disko coast. A hike from the village reveals a volcanic landscape very different from the granite reliefs of the rest of Greenland.
