To understand what Grodno is, you must look at Old Castle Grodno, St.François-Xavier's Church and Kaloja Church. These places give us a view of a territory marked by urban life, riverscapes and heritage and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

Old Grodno Castle
The Old Castle occupies a height above the Niemen, transformed in the 16th century for King Étienne Báthory; its rooms restore the various layers of the royal residence.

The former Jesuit church has a baroque façade and a monumental high altar; its tower clock retains an ancient mechanism which has become one of the symbols of the Grodno.

The church of Saints-Boris-et-Gleb dates from the 12th century and incrust coloured stones and ceramic cross in its walls; its fragile position on the edge of the Niemen reinforces its singular character.
