To understand what Portland and Casco Bay are, you need to look at Old Port, Portland Head Light and Casco Bay. These places give us a view of a territory marked by urban life, the coastline, heritage and island landscapes and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

Old Port concentrates the Portland The area maintains direct contact with Casco Bay in the morning, giving the most clear version of the harbour, before the terraces take over. The area is surrounded by fish shops, cafes, shops and salt.

Portland Head Light stands on a rocky coast where the light reinforces the contrast between white lighthouse, sea and lawns of Fort Williams Park. The surrounding trails offer several framings on the islets and entrance to the bay, useful for entering the coast of Casco.

Peaks Island Changing the pace with its wooden houses, quiet roads and discreet beaches overlooking Casco Bay. Crossing by bike or on foot from the ferry creates a condensed holiday impression, with atmospheres that remain intimate despite the proximity of Portland.

Eastern Promenade Draws a long green terrace overlooking Casco Bay, ferries and northern residential areas. The promenade is designed to alternate views far away and close to the water, and works particularly well in razing light in the morning or evening.
