Sligo and Yeats Country
Western city, tabular mountain, megaliths, surf beaches and landscapes associated with Yeats.
The discovery of Sligo and Yeats Country revolves around Sligo, Benbulbin and Carrowmore. The stay thus alternates between the coastline, mountain reliefs, heritage and natural spaces, which gives a concrete picture of the destination beyond its only best known site.
ดูทั้งหมด
For a stay of 2 to 5 days, it is better to balance visits and travel times. Also to be anticipated: exposed terrain and wet weather. A car is usually the easiest way to connect different sectors. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be checked step by step.

City
Sligo
Sligo brings together a market town, a discreet port, an active cultural scene and landscapes immediately present on the horizon. Benbulbin, Knocknarea and the bay give depth to an urban walk, especially for travelers attracted by the links between poetry, music and reliefs of the Irish West.
Tabular mountain
Benbulbin
Benbulbin is recognized by its tabular profile, a dark and almost geometric mass that dominates the north of Sligo. The paths around the mountain allow to approach the lines without necessarily aiming at the top; in changing times, the clouds further accentuate its theatrical character.
Megalithic site
Carrowmore
Carrowmore installs the traveller in an ancient funerary landscape, where circles of stones and low tombs are spread out in front of the mountains of Sligo. The site travels easily, but it asks to slow down to perceive alignments, distances and the place of relief in this megalithic memory.
