Mesa Arch
Mesa Arch is a low arch on the edge of a cliff of Island in the Sky, dials the canyons and the La Sal Mountains in the distance. At sunrise, its sub-face often lights up orange, but even later, the contrast between the near arch and the void behind it remains striking.

Island in the Sky
Island in the Sky forms a suspended plateau between the Colorado and Green River canyons, accessible by a road punctuated with gazebos. The views are immense but legible: mesas, faults, runway laces and layers of rock rise under the feet, without requiring long steps.
Place indismissible
The Needles
The Needles shows a more distant and mineral Canyonlands, with striped sandstone needles, domes, discreet arches and long trails. The area takes longer than Island in the Sky, but it rewards walkers by a real proximity to the desert formations and open spaces.
Nature and landscape
Grand View Point
Grand View Point ends the route of Island in the Sky with a panorama of the canyons, butts and plateaux cut from Canyonlands. The edge path extends the view without great difficulty, with subtle changes of angle that reveal the depth of the ravines under the mesa.
