The discovery of Dandong revolves around the broken bridge of the Yalu, Great Wall of Hushan and Mount Fenghuang. The stay thus alternates between urban life, riverscapes, heritage and mountain reliefs, giving a concrete picture of the destination beyond its only best known site.

Broken bridge of the Yalu
The broken bridge retains the Chinese section of a work bombed during the Korean War, facing Sinuiju. The walk provides a historical perspective, but local rules prohibiting certain shots must be respected.

Great Hushan Wall
Hushan marks the recognized eastern end of the Great Ming Wall on hills near the Yalu. The steps are steep and the border views require strictly following the signs and areas allowed.

Mount Fenghuang
Fenghuang raises rocky ridges, temples and bridges over the city of Fengcheng, north of Dandong. Some passages are narrow and aerial; lower routes are suitable for less experienced walkers.
