Grasslands National Park
One of Canada's most open landscapes is intact prairie meadows, badlands and prairie dog colonies.
Frenchman River Valley, Badlands Parkway and Valley of 1000 Devils provide the most telling landmarks of Prairie National Park. Together, they make up a destination where the desert areas, the countryside and the natural spaces meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than a single uniform decor.

The Frenchman River Valley opens one of the most characteristic landscapes of Grasslands National Park: dry hills, discrete meanders, razed grasses and silhouettes of buffalo or prairie dogs. The morning or late-day light better reveals the folds of the terrain and the golden hues.

Badlands Parkway
The Badlands Parkway This is a panoramic road in the middle of the ravine, buttocks and sculpted layers of land in the eastern part of Grasslands. The built stops allow you to quickly grasp the variety of relief, between open meadows and eroded formations with pale colors, without long hikes.

Valley of 1000 Devils
The Valley of 1000 Devils plunges into a maze of badlands where the mounds, ravines and earth chimneys give the landscape an almost lunar look. The approach requires walking and attention, but it rewards travellers ready to accept heat, wind and irregular terrain.

70 Mile Butte
70 Mile Butte offers one of the most legible viewpoints on the western sector of Grasslands, with a short but exposed climb. From the ridge, the meadow spreads in dry waves, punctuated with flows and tracks, while the wind reminds us how open this landscape remains.
