To understand what Leeds, Saltaire and the Air Valley are, you must look at Royal Armouries, Saltaire and Kirkstall Abbey. These places give us a view of a territory marked by the big city, urban life, heritage and riverscapes and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

The Royal Armouries Museum gathers weapons, armors and combat stories on a much more lively journey than just a military showcase. The demonstrations, the thematic galleries and the Leeds dock site make a solid visit, especially in bad weather.

Salts Mill
Salts Mill transforms a former sonature of Saltaire into a place combining industrial heritage, bookstores, art spaces and works by David Hockney. It reads very well the working-class history of the village, while enjoying a re-invented building without losing its original power.
Abbey in ruins
Kirkstall Abbey
Kirkstall Abbey maintains a striking presence with its large open arcades, stone walls and park on the edge of the Air. The visit takes all its strength when the light crosses the ruins, revealing the volumes of the old abbey without needing long comments.

Victoria Quarter
The Victoria Quarter shows the Leeds In its most refined version, between glass windows, mosaics, ironwork and worked facades. Even without the desire to buy, the crossing applies to covered architecture and the urban atmosphere more elegant than expected.
