Lakes, caves and hikes give the most telling landmarks of the Ariegean Pyrenees. Together, they form a destination where mountain reliefs, natural spaces and forests meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than a single uniform decor.

Foix et son château
The castle of Foix presents itself as a stone core in the heart of a moving village: crossing the square and then ascending to the towers immediately transforms the perspective on the valley. The narrow stairs, vaulted rooms and the back panorama give a physical idea of the defensive position of the site. It's an ideal stop after an urban journey, when the light drops.

Ax-les-Thermes
In Ax-les-Thermes, you can feel the encounter between the spa town and the mountain from the first street: narrow facades, short traffic, places where passers-by slow down.
