Ermoupoli The white image of the Cyclades is divided by its neoclassical facades, monumental staircases, theatre and large paved square. The administrative capital of the archipelago, it keeps a life open all year round, between cafes, shipyards and neighborhoods that go up to Ano Syros.

Ano Syros upper floor above Ermoupoli in narrow alleys, vaulted passages and tight houses around the Catholic cathedral. The area offers a Cyclade more medieval than seaside, with views of the harbour, hills and rooftops of the lower town.

The Place Miaouli is the civic heart of Ermoupoli, framed by the neoclassical city hall, arcades and coffee terraces. It is clearly seen the urban ambition of Syros, closer to a small Mediterranean capital than to a simple cycladic port.
